Old People

Mahirap palang maging matanda. Tipong iiwanan ka, aabandonahin, o kaya ipamimigay sa mga charity na nagaalaga ng matatanda. Ang sakit siguro nun. Everyday nilang natatandaan yung araw na sinabi ng mga anak nila "Ma, Pa -- Iwan ko na kayo ah".

Awhile ago we were in a semi-hospital in which they take care old people.
We were assigned in groups, I was with Lora - Adelle - Espee - Bena and Christine. We talked to the Lola's there. Some were just looking down, some were talking to themselves, some sleeps. There was someone who was singing and one who speaks about lots of things I can't really remember. We talked to them asking them if they are okay, and we're glad they were fine.

The part that struck me the most, is when we fed them.
I realized that I was so kind to those old people. Then I remembered my parents. My parents whom I shout, answer back, disrespect -- all things a daughter like me can do. I am so mean to them. SOBRA.

And now, I see myself, feeding someone I don't know with MUCH respect. My parents could have got twice but -- they got nothing.
My father was right about what he said to me one time --" Sa iba ang bait bait mo.." Nakakahiya.

Ewan ko lang ah, siguro kung walang social action -- siguro hindi ko maiisip na -- Ay tama si papa.

I'll try my best to be patient with my parents. Although I am not comfortable with all their rules... I just don't know why my parent's rules is the hardest rules.

I watched "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" yesterday.
In the near end, Charlie and Wonka had this conversation:

Charlie Bucket: What have you got against my family?
Willy Wonka: It not just your family, its the whole idea of p... p... You know, they're always telling you what to do, what not to do. It's not conducive to a creative atmosphere.
Charlie Bucket: Most of the time their just trying to protect you.

Striking huh. HAHA.

Why are things SO connected.
It's like the whole point of "parents" are around me since yesterday.
And then it's our RETREAT tomorrow. (patay na)

HAHA.
Okay -- are these some kind of answers to my unasked questions?
Holy hell. haha

Well to break this talk thing --
I'm excited for tomorrow.
