Here I am again, back from where I left it. Our first subject was Homeroom and our teacher gave us worksheets regarding advocating (promoting) values. I did not feel answering it in a serious manner. As if I would "advocate" love, peace and all the blah blah-ness. Magiging plastic lang ako if ever. So along with my groupmates, we laughed our answers out. One of the questions was, what will we do to advocate, etc. We picked up random words which we know is the right answer. It's not from the heart. Those answers were from the brain. So what do I conclude? I won't advocate love.
Also she said, that we shall think about our neighbors first before ourselves. I thought: Okay I'll think about them first, if they are hungry and I am hungry I will give them my food. Then I will be the one to starve, die and those people I have given food will cling to another person who also thinks about her/his neighbors first. So what will happen? Instead of making those people independent, responsible citizens, they grow to become dependent to others. Furthermore, if there would come a time that no one will give them what they lack, they will start blaming the government telling that they are being neglected. They don't look at themselves and learn that the only thing they have neglected is themselves. They have neglected their own abilities to work, to learn and to make the best out of what they know.
If most of the people care for others before themselves, well probabbly I should have not studied. They would care for me anyway. And perhaps that's some of the mentality of some people.
One of the famous quotes/line goes:
Don't give a man a fish, teach him how to fish.
I think that is right. We shall not pamper them with goods. We shall teach them to make their own, get their own.
I hear a lot of stories of poor people who manage to get rich.
My parents, they always tell me that they were poor. Their allowance was only 5 pesos and that is for recess and lunch already. Or sometimes they don't even have something to get from their pockets. My mom almost stopped school BUT she worked. Also my dad, he is a working student once.
SEE!
It's not riches to riches only. It could be rags to riches. If you want to have only rags to rags, then go on and be dependent. PITY yourself much and you know where the world will get you.
Everyday I hear interviews made by the press concerning the poor. The poor person crys and say "we don't have anything and we don't have money, I have 9 children and my husband does not work... were so poor!"
Don't you get frustrated? They ask help because they have 9 children and they don't have work? Why can't they find a job? even though the job is sweeping the streets and roads? A job like that already have pay. They can eat and support their family. That job is not to be underestimated for it's a good job.
If someone who is responsible, does the best of his/her best to give his/her family food, and still is poor and that's the only time I'll BE GLAD TO HELP. Because they already sweat for something and perhaps I can help for them to go a step higher.
So yeah, I guess that's all I can think about. ^o^
Don't know how to make a good ending sentence or whatsoever x]
